Garmin Approach S62 Review: Yet Another Master March 31, 2022by Martin 6 Using a GPS golf watch may have become commonplace over the past decade, but it's not often that these dedicated devices translate well to everyday use. Either the appearance is impossible in golfing conditions, or the feature set is too limited to warrant a full-time place in your hand. The Garmin Approach S62, however, aims to provide a more comprehensive experience while also providing premium tracking features for all levels of golfers. But can it blur the lines convincingly or serve you better by keeping golf technology out of your everyday life? Design and display Display: 1.3-inch color touch screen; 260 x 260 pixels Dimensions: 47 x 47 x 14.8 mm / Weight: 61 g Water resistance: 5ATM Like any GPS sports watch , the Approach S62, above all, must remain functional in use.
With a comfortable rubber strap and a very reasonable C Level Executive List weight, it can achieve this. Since it's strapped to our wrists, we've never felt in the way during any activity, including golf. The 47mm case – the only size option available – is definitely on the large side, but other than when sleeping, we personally don't find it too much of a problem. However, we suspect that not all interested parties feel the same way about this watch. Those with smaller hands who don't enjoy anything too much are probably better off, at least in terms of comfort, with the mid-range Approach S42 and its 43mm body. This, of course, is not only about comfort. That larger case size also results in a larger screen, and given that you're likely to spend a lot of time interacting with it, there's a very good reason to want it to be as big as possible.
After being spoiled by the lively and rich smartwatch Over the years, we have seen the 62-inch color screen of the S1.3 a very standard work. It won't leave you, but at the same time, there's nothing stopping you. You can still see maps and menus clearly in sunlight, and backlight and brightness sliders are also at your disposal. On the right side of the case there are three buttons: the red button is a shortcut to start the activity; the middleman will send you to a simplified menu; and the bottom is used only to return. These are nice and work like most Garmin models. Although the S62's display is also a touchscreen, getting used to the controls can be a bit confusing. For example, it took us a day or two to learn that swiping up or down from the home screen brings up your daily stats. Around the edge of the display, you'll also see a 1-18 stamp - as you've probably guessed from the number, you can use it as a gauge for the holes in the course.
